This June, Year 5 pupils had the incredible opportunity to attend a performance of The Lion King at London’s Lyceum Theatre. The excitement was tangible as children experienced the stunning spectacle of live theatre—many for the very first time.

From the powerful opening number to the final curtain, pupils were captivated by the unforgettable music, dazzling costumes, and breath-taking puppetry. The trip linked beautifully with our English and PSHE learning, offering a chance to reflect on themes such as family, bravery, and responsibility, all explored through the journey of Simba.

Since the visit, pupils have spoken passionately about their favourite characters and scenes. Many have produced thoughtful writing and vibrant artwork in class, inspired by the show’s dramatic storytelling and visual creativity.
